Job summary

DPG Solutions is seeking a mid- to senior-level Systems Administrator to support a classified customer environment in Springfield, Virginia. This hands-on role focuses on securing, operating, and maintaining enterprise Windows infrastructure and mission systems.

Ideal candidates will have strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, and SCCM/SCOM, plus experience in cross-domain environments. US Citizenship and an adjudicated TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph is required.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional systems administration experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience in Microsoft Windows Server environments.
  • Experience managing users, groups, permissions, policies, and access controls via Active Directory.
  • Experience troubleshooting and correcting complex OS, application, infrastructure, and performance issues.
  • Experience planning, testing, installing, and integrating operating systems and subsystems.
  • Experience administering VMware-based virtual environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager and Operations Manager.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing within a multidisciplinary team.

Systems Administrator

Work Location: Springfield, VA

DPG Solutions is looking for a mid- to senior-level Systems Administrator to support a classified customer environment in Springfield, Virginia. This is a hands-on position for an experienced administrator who can secure, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain enterprise Windows infrastructure and mission systems.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, enterprise monitoring and configuration tools, storage solutions, and cross-domain environments. You should be comfortable managing systems throughout their operational lifecycle, from installation and integration through performance monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrades.

Experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager and System Center Operations Manager is required. This position offers meaningful visibility with the customer and an opportunity to help DPG continue expanding its presence in Virginia.

Responsibilities
  • Perform system and security administration functions within a classified customer environment.
  • Create, manage, modify, and disable customer accounts, groups, permissions, and access controls using Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Administer and maintain Windows Server operating systems and related enterprise services.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct operating system, application, infrastructure, account management, and system performance issues.
  • Plan, test, install, configure, and integrate new or upgraded operating systems, third-party software components, and supporting subsystems.
  • Monitor and manage system resources to optimize availability, operating efficiency, security, and performance.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot custom software applications.
  • Administer virtualized environments using VMware and related management technologies.
  • Support enterprise storage solutions and associated system integrations.
  • Support systems operating within cross-domain or multi-security-level environments.
  • Administer and support Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager for software deployment, patching, configuration management, and endpoint administration.
  • Administer and support Microsoft System Center Operations Manager for infrastructure monitoring, alerting, health management, and operational reporting.
  • Apply operating system patches, security updates, configuration changes, and vulnerability remediations.
  • Maintain system baselines, technical documentation, operating procedures, account records, and configuration information.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, software, systems engineering, storage, networking, and mission teams.
  • Support system integration, testing, deployment, upgrades, maintenance, and operational troubleshooting.
  • Follow security, configuration management, access control, and customer compliance requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior administrators when appropriate.
Required Qualifications
  • 5 or more years of professional systems administration, infrastructure administration, or system security administration experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience administering Microsoft Windows Server environments.
  • Experience managing users, groups, permissions, policies, and access controls through Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Experience troubleshooting and correcting complex operating system, application, infrastructure, and performance issues.
  • Experience planning, testing, installing, and integrating operating systems, third-party software, and supporting subsystems.
  • Experience monitoring and managing system resources to improve performance, availability, and operational efficiency.
  • Experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting custom software.

  • Experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager.

  • Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • A customer-approved security certification, including Security+, SSCP, CISSP, or CASP.
  • Active TS/SCI with an adjudicated Full Scope Polygraph prior to start.
  • US Citizenship.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Windows Server hardening, Group Policy, patch management, vulnerability remediation, and security configuration.
  • Experience with PowerShell or another administrative scripting language.
  • Experience with enterprise services such as DNS, DHCP, PKI, certificate management, or file and print services.
  • Experience managing VMware ESXi, vCenter, virtual machines, templates, snapshots, and virtual infrastructure.
  • Experience with backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and continuity of operations procedures.
  • Experience supporting SAN, NAS, or other enterprise storage technologies.
  • Experience supporting classified systems or national security customers.
  • Experience with STIGs, access controls, system security plans, RMF, or compliance-driven environments.
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring, logging, event management, and performance analysis.Experience working directly with customers, users, cybersecurity personnel, and mission stakeholders.
