Job summary

Careerscape is partnering with a defense and intelligence contractor in Springfield, VA to recruit a Systems Administrator for a high-security, mission-critical enterprise IT environment. You will own Windows Server estates, Active Directory, VMware clusters, SCCM, and storage platforms.

The successful candidate will hold an active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Poly, DoD 8570 IAT II/III certification, and hands-on experience with DoD STIGs, SCOM, and cross-domain solutions.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Poly is required.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II or III certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP, CASP) is required.
• Hands-on experience administering Windows Server OS and AD design.
• VMware virtualization, SCCM, and SCOM in an enterprise setting are essential.
• Experience with enterprise storage and cross-domain solutions is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Windows Server environments across a classified enterprise network.
• Manage Active Directory forests, domains, group policy, and security configurations.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain VMware virtualization infrastructure.
• Administer SCCM for endpoint management and patching.
• Monitor system health using SCOM and maintain storage/SAN infrastructure.
• Support cross-domain solution architecture and guardian systems.
• Ensure system security hardening per DoD STIGs and IA policies.
• Perform backups, DR testing, and system upgrades.
• Collaborate with ISSOs and government stakeholders on accreditation.

Careerscape is recruiting on behalf of our client, a defense and intelligence community contractor, for a Systems Administrator to support a high-security enterprise IT environment in Springfield, VA. Day to day, you will be deep in Windows Server environments, Active Directory forests, and VMware clusters, keeping SCCM and SCOM humming while hardening systems against evolving threats. Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Windows Server environments across a classified enterprise network
• Manage Active Directory forests, domains, group policy, and system security configurations
• Deploy, configure, and maintain VMware virtualization infrastructure

• Monitor system health, availability, and performance using SCOM
• Maintain and support enterprise storage systems and SAN infrastructure
• Support and troubleshoot cross-domain solution architecture and guard systems
• Implement system security hardening in accordance with DoD STIGs and IA policies
• Perform routine backups, disaster recovery testing, and system upgrades
• Collaborate with ISSOs and government stakeholders on accreditation and compliance activities

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with adjudicated Full Scope Polygraph is required
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II or III certification such as Security+, SSCP, CISSP, or CASP
• Extensive hands-on experience administering Windows Server operating systems
• Strong background in Active Directory design, administration, and system security
• Proven experience with VMware virtualization technologies
• Hands-on experience with SCCM and SCOM in an enterprise environment
• Experience supporting enterprise storage and cross-domain solutions
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience
• Ability to work on-site full time in Springfield, Virginia
