Job summary

Rysun Labs is seeking a Systems Administrator for on-site work in Skokie, IL. The role focuses on VMware ESXi, backup management with Veeam, and storage/server upgrades to keep infrastructure robust.

You will handle OS patching, decommissioned VMs cleanup, and server migrations while coordinating with cross-functional teams. On-site required with normal business hours and Sev-1 support readiness.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience as a systems administrator or similar
• Strong VMware ESXi administration experience
• Veeam backup and restore expertise
• Experience with Windows Server 2012–2022/2025 upgrades
• Knowledge of domain permissions and file-share access

Responsibilities

• Perform ESXi upgrades and OS patching
• Clean up decommissioned server VMs
• Troubleshoot ESXi storage and Veeam backups
• Upgrade Windows Server 2012 to 2022/2025
• Assist with application upgrades and support
• Support storage upgrades, replacements, and end-of-life migrations
• Work independently on infrastructure projects

We are looking for a Systems / VMware Administrator to provide hands-on infrastructure support at our Skokie location. The ideal candidate should have strong experience with VMware ESXi, Veeam, physical storage, Windows servers, and domain/file-share permissions. This role will primarily focus on infrastructure administration, server upgrades, patching, storage and backup support, and assisting with application upgrades.
