We are seeking a Systems Administrator (IS Technical Services Specialist) for our Core Technology team. The Systems Administrator serves under general supervision of the Director of Core Technology and is based in Madison, WI. Occasional remote work requests may be granted with supervisor approval based on projects and departmental need. Position Summary

This position focuses on the administration of physical and virtual servers, storage, and other hardware. The Systems Administrator is responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting and monitoring which prevent workflow disruptions and services outages. Additionally, the role provides timely technical support with complete documentation of work.

Special Requirements

• Requires a variable, non-traditional work schedule including some nights and weekends.
• May requires occasional standby or on-call status, which will be compensated in accordance with the State Compensation Plan.
• Requires occasional in-state travel (10%).

Salary Information

This classification is assigned to pay schedule-range 07-34. The starting hourly rate for the Systems Administrator (IS Technical Services Senior) position will be between $35.00 - $40.00 per hour ($72,800.00 and $83.200.00 annually), depending on candidate qualifications, plus excellent benefits. For current and eligible former State employees, compensation will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan at the time of hire. A 12-month probationary period may be required.

Job Details

Due to the nature of the position, ECB will conduct background checks on applicants prior to selection. ECB does not sponsor work visas and is not an eligible OPT (Optional Practical Training) employer for F-1 international students. All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States, and to complete the required employment eligibility form. This position involves regular and frequent travel. The selected candidate must have a valid driver’s license that meets the State’s Risk Management requirements and provide evidence of auto insurance if using a personal vehicle for work or have the ability to obtain reliable transportation on a consistent basis.

Qualifications

• Systems administration such as managing and maintaining servers, physical and virtual machines, network-attached storage systems, and all IT systems, including desktop and server Windows and Linux systems.
• Maintaining Active Directory environments, especially focusing on creating and tuning Group Policy Objects and applying Principle of Least Privilege to all designs.
• Providing technical support to end-users for hardware, software and network connectivity issues.
