Job summary

Solidus Resources is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator in Lovelock, NV to maintain and optimize IT systems. You will provide technical support to end-users, manage servers and networks, and ensure security and efficiency of the technology environment.

The role requires 4+ years in IT administration, strong Windows/Office skills, and willingness to travel to the Spring Valley site as needed. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, and ERP experience with Pronto/Sage is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Computer Science/Information Technology.
• 4+ years of experience in IT administration or IT support.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows OS and Office applications.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills with end-users.
• Familiarity with network administration and security best practices.
• Willingness to travel to the mine site near Lovelock, NV as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical support to end-users, addressing hardware, software, ERP (Pronto & Sage) and network inquiries.
• Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues, remotely or on-site, with minimal business disruption.
• Set up and configure computers, workstations, printers, and peripherals for employees.
• Manage and maintain servers, ensuring stability, security, and performance.
• Monitor resources, identify bottlenecks, and assist in disaster recovery planning.
• Administer LAN and collaborate on network security.
• Install, upgrade, and license software applications; maintain asset inventory.
• Contribute to IT security policies and stay informed about threats.
• Create technical documentation and conduct staff training.
• Travel to mine site near Lovelock, NV as required.

Position Overview

As the Systems Administrator, you will play a vital role in maintaining and optimizing our IT systems and ensuring their smooth operation. You will be responsible for handling various technology-related tasks, providing technical support to end-users, and contributing to the overall efficiency and security of our technology environment. Job Responsibilities

User Support and Technical Assistance:

• Provide day-to-day technical support to end-users, addressing hardware, software, ERP (Pronto & Sage) and network-related inquiries promptly and efficiently.
• Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues, either remotely or on-site, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
• Assist in setting up and configuring computers, workstations, printers, and other peripherals for employees.

System Administration

• Manage and maintain our servers, ensuring their stability, security, and optimal performance.
• Monitor system resource utilization, identify potential bottlenecks, and take proactive measures to avoid disruptions.
• Contribute to disaster recovery planning.

Network Management

• Administer and maintain our local area network (LAN) and ensure network connectivity for all devices and users.
• Collaborate with the Senior Systems Administrator to implement network security measures and prevent unauthorized access.

Software And Hardware Management

• Install, upgrade, and configure software applications, ensuring they are properly licensed and updated.
• Maintain an inventory of hardware and software assets, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements.

IT Security And Compliance

• Assist in implementing and enforcing IT security policies and procedures to safeguard sensitive data and protect against cyber threats.
• Stay informed about the latest security threats and best practices, and actively participate in security awareness programs.

Documentation And Training

• Create and maintain technical documentation, including user guides and standard operating procedures.
• Conduct training sessions to empower employees with essential IT skills and best practices.

Other

• Other duties as required including some travel to mine site near Lovelock Nevada

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
• Proven work experience as an IT Administrator, IT Support Specialist, or a similar role (4 years of experience).
• Solid knowledge of computer systems, hardware, software, and network administration.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting technical issues and providing timely solutions.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• A passion for technology and a proactive attitude towards staying updated with the latest IT trends and developments.
• Continuous Improvement mindset required.
