Salary: This is a full-time, twelve (12) month position at 232 days, with a salary in the range of $82,572.00 to $100,067.00.
Job Summary/ Primary Purpose:
Plan, administer, secure, monitor, and continuously improve ESC Region 13's enterprise Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure cloud, Windows Server, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments. Provide technical leadership and Tier 3 support for identity and access management, collaboration services, cloud resources, server lifecycle management, automation, integrations, backup, recovery, security, and system availability. Ensure that enterprise systems are reliable, scalable, documented, and aligned with organizational security, compliance, and operational requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Three years of experience administering enterprise Microsoft environments, including Windows Server, Active Directory Domain Services, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and PowerShell.
- Two years of experience administering Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, licensing, service health, and tenant configuration.
- Two years of experience using the Microsoft Entra admin center to manage users, groups, roles, authentication methods, multifactor authentication, Conditional Access, enterprise applications, app registrations, service principals, and identity lifecycle processes.
- Two years of experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers in a production environment.
- Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux provisioning, package and repository management, system services, Linux, firewall, SSH, storage, permissions, logging, patching, performance monitoring, backup, and security hardening.
- One year of experience administering Microsoft Azure resources, including subscriptions, resource groups, role-based access, virtual machines, storage, networking, monitoring, and backup.
- One year of experience using PowerShell and Microsoft Graph for tenant administration, reporting, bulk changes, integration, or workflow automation.
- One year of experience supporting Power Apps and Power Automate, including environments, permissions, connectors, solutions, and data policies.
- Three years of experience supporting cybersecurity controls and technologies such as endpoint protection, vulnerability remediation, security monitoring, SIEM, backup, and incident response.
- Experience providing Tier 3 technical support and maintaining accurate technical documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or technical degree in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Current Microsoft certification in Microsoft 365, Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, or Microsoft Power Platform.
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator certification or comparable Linux certification.
- Experience with hybrid identity using Microsoft Entra Connect Sync or Microsoft Entra Cloud Sync.
- Experience with Exchange hybrid configurations and SharePoint Online administration.
- Experience with Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Purview, or related security and compliance tools.
- Experience with Power Platform governance, solution lifecycle management, connectors, and data loss prevention controls.
- Experience with REST APIs, Microsoft Graph, JSON, OAuth, SAML, and OpenID Connect.
- Proficiency in Bash, Python, or Ansible for Linux automation and configuration management.
- Experience with VMware vSphere, hyperconverged infrastructure, enterprise backup systems, disaster recovery, and high availability.
- Experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or other enterprise database platforms.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge/ Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues quickly and effectively.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, Microsoft Entra ID, identity and access management, and Microsoft cloud service operations.
- Strong knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration and Linux command line tools.
- Proficiency in PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, Bash, and administrative scripting practices.
- Working knowledge of Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Platform environments, connectors, permissions, and governance controls.
- Strong understanding of cloud governance, role-based access, monitoring, capacity management, backup, recovery, and cost awareness.
- Thorough understanding of networking protocols including TCP, UDP, SSH, SCP, SFTP, HTTP, SMTP, TLS, DNS, and VPN.
- Thorough understanding of authentication, authorization, accounting, least privilege, multifactor authentication, audit logging, vulnerability remediation, and change management.
- Ability to create clear technical documentation, communicate with technical and nontechnical stakeholders, and work effectively during outages or emergencies.
Major Responsibilities:
- Serve as a representative of ESC Region 13, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with members of the educational community and the public.
- Provide Tier 3 technical support and customer service to internal teams and external clients and provide ancillary support for enterprise applications used by the Business Office, Human Resources, and Information Technology.
- Administer and maintain the Microsoft 365 tenants, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, licensing, service health, tenant settings, auditing, retention, and related administrative controls.
- Administer Microsoft Entra ID identity and access services, including users, groups, roles, multifactor authentication, Conditional Access, single sign on, enterprise applications, app registrations, service principals, authentication methods, and access governance.
- Manage the lifecycle of employee, administrator, guest, service, and application identities, and apply role-based access and least privilege practices.
- Maintain hybrid identity and related on premises Microsoft services, including Active Directory Domain Services, Microsoft Entra synchronization, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Windows Server administration.
- Administer Microsoft Azure resources, including subscriptions, resource groups, access controls, virtual machines, storage, networking, monitoring, backup, resource organization, capacity, and utilization.
- Provision, configure, patch, secure, monitor, and troubleshoot Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers and associated services in production, test, and development environments.
- Manage Red Hat subscriptions and repositories, packages, system services, Linux, firewall, SSH, storage, permissions, logs, scheduled tasks, backups, and performance tuning.
- Maintain application and system security across Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments, and support vulnerability remediation, audit review, alert investigation, and incident response.
- Automate administrative tasks, reporting, provisioning, and system maintenance using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, Bash, and other approved scripting or automation tools.
- Support and administer Power Apps and Power Automate solutions, including environments, connections, connectors, permissions, service accounts, solutions, data policies, and appropriate governance controls.
- Monitor cloud service health, system availability, application performance, capacity utilization, backup status, and security events, and recommend improvements that reduce risk and downtime.
- Implement and test enterprise backup, restoration, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes in coordination with technical staff and program area stakeholders.
- Plan, test, document, and implement operating system, application, firmware, tenant, and cloud service patches, upgrades, configuration changes, and maintenance activities using established change management practices.
- Plan, implement, and troubleshoot integrations, APIs, data transfers, and data synchronization across disparate systems, including secure file transfer and Microsoft Graph based integrations.
- Maintain current system documentation, architecture diagrams, inventories, configuration standards, access records, scripts, runbooks, recovery procedures, and vendor support information.
- Evaluate, review, and recommend information systems, cloud services, administrative tools, and technical standards for the organization, and work with external vendors as necessary to resolve issues.
- Participate in technology projects, user group meetings, professional development, maintenance windows, and emergency response activities as required.
