Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) Mission Technologies Division seeks a Systems Administrator to support a multinational capability, connecting national secret networks and improving information sharing across allied partners. Role located in Fort Meade, MD, with a strong emphasis on cybersecurity, IT operations, and cross-functional collaboration.

The ideal candidate brings extensive systems administration experience, active Secret clearance, and a track record of implementing networked IT

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 10 years of relevant experience, or Master’s with 8 years, or HS diploma with 14 years.
• Active Secret Security Clearance and related certifications.
• Experience with multi-network, multi-national systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems and coordinate with network admins.
• Set up administrator and service accounts, maintain docs, tune performance, install software.
• Interact with users, evaluate vendor products, and advise on purchases and deployments.
• Develop and monitor policies for compute resource allocation and usage.
• Install, test, maintain, troubleshoot IT hardware/software, and document issues.
• Maintain expertise across network/hardware interconnections (routers, switches, firewalls).
• Evaluate new network technologies to enhance capabilities.

Job Description

HII - Mission Technologies is currently seeking a Systems Administrator to work in Fort Meade, MD in support of a multi-national developed capability that connects respective existing national Secret networks and services to deliver improved information sharing capabilities between Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

• Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators.
• Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system-wide software, and allocating mass storage space.
• Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
• Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation, and provides backup recovery.
• Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
• Responsible for the installation, checkout, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operations of information technology hardware, software, wiring, and systems and involved in other system-level duties, document installation, and issues related to it.
• Maintains technical expertise in all network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing areas, such as routers, switches, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
• Evaluate and report on new network technologies to enhance the network's capabilities.

Minimum Qualifications

10 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 8 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 14 years relevant experience.

• Applicable common System Engineering certification(s) such as, but not limited to, MSCE, CSEP, CCNA, CISSP
• Must have an Active Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Requirements

• Experience working with ServiceNow
• Experience working in or for the military
• Expertise in Multi-national Combatant Command-level military exercises, coalition networking supporting military operations, and/or Mission Partner Environments, such as Pegasus.
• Experience or interest in materials, material applications, defense systems, and/or supply chains.
• Knowledge of engineering principles, methods, and techniques.
• Effective data analysis and problem-solving skills; attention to detail.
• Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Agile/Scrum Familiarity with Agile, Kanban, Scrum, how Scrum is done, standard Scrum/Agile.
