Qualifications

  • Monitor performance, security, and updates on end-user devices.
  • Document incidents and solutions; follow ITIL-like processes.

Job description

Position Summary

NV5 Geospatial is looking for a skilled professional to join our IT team as aSystems Administrator. This person will install and maintain computer systems and networks aiming for the highest functionality. They will also train users of the systems to make appropriate and safe usage of the IT infrastructure.

The Systems Administrator will require knowledge of computer software and hardware and a variety of internet applications, networks and operating systems. The ideal candidate will have great troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail. The goal is to build and maintain updated and efficient computer systems and networks to optimize the role of technology on business sustainability.

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in the Corvallis, OR office (must live Corvallis, OR or surrounding area)
  • < 10% travel
Responsibilities
  • Provide first level contact and communicate solutions for customer issues, provide feedback and see problems through to completion.
  • Correctly escape unresolved issues to the next level of support.
  • Create, change and delete user accounts as requested.
  • Set up end user devices including workstations, laptops and necessary peripheral devices.
  • Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment.
  • Install and configure appropriate GIS and business applications on local and remote systems.
  • Utilize excellent customer service skills to satisfy internal team expectations.
  • Ensure proper recording, documentation and closure of all customer and internal IT issues.
  • Recommend process modifications or improvements.
  • Document and contribute individual knowledge of service desk procedures, IT systems, products and services in the system(s) of record.
  • Management and monitoring of end user devices for expected performance and security plan enforcement.
  • Install, configure, monitor and troubleshoot all licensed software and license servers.
  • Upgrade user systems and devices with new releases, patch and perform regular system maintenance.
Requirements

  • Proven experience in Systems Administrator, ServiceDeskor similar role
  • Resourcefulness andproblem solvingaptitude
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • In depth understanding of computer hardware,networkingand ticket management
  • Working knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
  • BA/BS in Information Technology, ComputerScienceor a related discipline; professional certification such as Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP); or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to lift 25lbs.
  • On call/after hours duties.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
