Job summary

The University of Connecticut, in partnership with CEN, is seeking a System Administrator I to maintain and secure Windows and Linux servers, both on‑prem and cloud hosted, and to support network services critical to the statewide provider network.

You will monitor systems, automate tasks, manage IAM, handle incidents, and collaborate with diverse teams; travel across New England and NY is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree and 4 years of related experience, or Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience.
• Experience with Windows Server 2019 or better and Linux platforms.
• Knowledge of networking, firewalls, and server automation tools.
• Excellent written and oral communication; able to convey technical info to non‑technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Serve as admin and escalation point for server infrastructure, cloud, and monitoring solutions.
• Ensure systems are secure and highly available; perform integrity checks and remediation.
• Develop and support IAM solutions, including identity stores and authentication mechanisms.
