Job summary

The anticipated salary range for this role is between $191,152.00and $197,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Role Objectives
  • Run systematic trading day-to-day operations (systematic trading risk and Profit & Loss, and systems).
  • Research and monitor trading, hedging and execution strategies. Research and monitor pricing/risk models for electronic quantitative market making.
  • Improve models and strategies.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics, Financial Engineering, Quantitative Finance or a related field
  • 3 years of experience. Required skills: quantitative financial modeling and algorithmic trading strategy design, with a focus on derivatives pricing and trading; mathematical modeling and statistical analysis, including optimization techniques, linear regression, and data driven research; programming and systems engineering.

The required skill set does not need to be maintained over the full term of the required experience.

The role is eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.
