  • Background in corporate credit and high yield with well-developed intuition for issuers, capital structures, and credit risk.
  • Strong verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Collaborative mindset, intellectual curiosity, and willingness to take ownership of work from idea generation through implementation.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB required, SQL, Python, Bloomberg, Office 365
  • Willingness to travel

  • Partner with centralized teams such as credit research, quantitative research, trading, risk management, and technology to ensure the strategy benefits from shared expertise across the firm.

About the Role

We are seeking a Systematic Credit Strategist to join the Systematic High Yield team within the Alpha Strategies Group. This is an opportunity to play a meaningful role in an established product with proven track record of success. The role suits someone who has a genuine enthusiasm for systematic investing and an entrepreneurial mindset to grow the existing suite of strategies into a durable business.

As a core member of the team, you will have direct involvement in research, portfolio construction, and external communication. You will be a key decision maker, helping shape the future success through consistent out-performance and asset gathering. Communication is central to long-term success. This individual should be a thoughtful team player, able to collaborate constructively, and contribute with clarity.

About the Team

The Alpha Strategies team is a multi-asset investment team managing approximately $9billion in AUM. The team invests across credit and equities combining fundamental research and quantitative insights.

Job Responsibilities
  • Support the continued evolution of the strategy through collaborative effort

Communication & Client Engagement
  • Interest and comfort in client facing communication is a must to help promote the product and grow assets under management
  • Serve as a credible representative of the strategy with confidence and intellectual honesty
  • Clearly and thoughtfully articulate the strategy’s philosophy, construction, and performance to institutional clients, prospects and investment consultants
  • Help produce written marketing materials, analysis, and commentary suitable for sophisticated external audiences.
Qualifications & Education Requirements

Preferred Experience
  • 5-10 years prior experience with systematic or quantitative credit strategies.
  • Exposure to institutional clients, consultants, or investment committees.
  • Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics or a related quantitative discipline.
Additional Requirements

The position follows a hybrid schedule with two days work from home and three days work from office.

Loomis Sayles is committed to offering competitive and equitable compensation. The salary range for this position is $130,000 - $250,000 USD. Your starting salary will be based on your experience, skills, qualifications and local benchmarking. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual incentive award, which is based on individual and company performance. In addition to your compensation, you will have access to a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health, well-being and financial security.
