The System Technology Strategy Leader will guide and shape the near and far term technology needs of the Defense Engines product portfolio, for all military services including fixed and rotary wing applications. With understanding and anticipation of customer needs for product growth, performance, operating economics, and durability, you will define requirements and identify technology solutions for future product upgrades and estimate cost and timing for implementing upgrades.
Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Establishes product requirements (internal and external), defines components and sub systems making up the overall architecture. Provides forward looking strategy for platforms and technology development / insertion to make product competitive. Defines and provides scope management. (defines the what)
  • Requires specialized knowledge within the function. Influence the development of strategy for the area of responsibility, including control of resources and influences policy formulation.
  • Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work.
  • Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
  • May lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others' options on particular topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in systems engineering
  • Willingness to travel 40% or more

The base pay range for this position is $142,100.00- $220,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan.This posting is expected to close on 5/14/2025.
