Qualifications

• Experience installing, testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting substation equipment.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of electrical safety practices and industry standards (NERC/ERCOT).

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of substation and P&C technicians to install, test, maintain, and repair equipment.
• Supervise preventive and corrective maintenance of relays, meters, breakers, transformers, and regulators.
• Plan and coordinate construction, maintenance, and emergency work to meet operational needs.
• Ensure compliance with NERC, ERCOT, and company standards and maintain records.
• Manage equipment maintenance databases and asset documentation.
• Assist with department budgeting and procurement.

What You'll Do

As the System Technician Supervisor, you'll oversee the installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of substation electrical equipment while leading a team of talented substation and P&C technicians. You'll ensure equipment reliability, regulatory compliance, and safe work practices while helping develop the next generation of technical professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of substation & P&C technicians to safely perform installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of substation equipment.
• Supervise preventive and corrective maintenance of microprocessor-based relays, meters, circuit breakers, reclosers, transformers, regulators, and other substation equipment.
• Plan, prioritize, and coordinate construction, maintenance, and emergency work activities to meet operational needs.
• Ensure compliance with NERC, ERCOT, and company standards, including scheduling required relay testing and maintaining regulatory records.
• Oversee equipment maintenance databases, asset management documentation, and department administrative functions.
• Assist with department budgeting, equipment procurement, and evaluation of new technologies and testing equipment.
• Build strong working relationships with internal departments, member cooperatives, contractors, and industry partners.

What We're Looking For:

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years of experience as a Protection & Controls Technician or closely related field.
• Demonstrated experience installing, testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting substation equipment.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Working knowledge of electrical safety practices and applicable industry standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electrical Power Technology or equivalent technical program.
• Experience with NERC compliance requirements and ERCOT metering standards.
• Previous experience leading or mentoring technical personnel.
