A prominent technology company seeks a System Support Engineer to manage middleware solutions and ensure system reliability. This role involves administering applications, incident response, and performance analysis while providing 24/7 on-call support. Ideal candidates will possess knowledge of enterprise storage solutions and relevant technical certifications.
We are seeking a System Support Engineer to administer middleware software solutions, enterprise email, instant messaging solutions, web application solutions, enterprise directory services, and other ancillary applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining system performance and ensuring the reliability of applications while providing on-call support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Administer middleware software solutions, enterprise email and instant messaging solutions, web application solutions, and enterprise directory services.
• Apply patching and regular updates to supported application systems.
• Support enterprise storage and backup platforms/systems.
• Serve as the primary administrator and level 1 and 2 approver for all Application Support Services change management functions.
• Analyze deep transaction tracing, synthetic monitoring, real user monitoring, and network monitoring to assist with recommendations, incident response, and problem resolution.
• Act as the first responder to all incidents involving supported applications.
• Assist with the collection and analysis of performance monitoring for supported applications.
• Create, update, and maintain department work instructions.
• Perform technical Proof of Concepts (POCs) for new tools and services.
• Research technical issues and provide recommendations for resolution and process improvements.
Required Qualifications:
• Working knowledge of enterprise backup and storage.
• Ability to analyze and resolve complex problems using independent judgment while communicating effectively with internal and external customers.
• Ability to provide on-call support 24/7.
• Occasional travel to enterprise sites may be required.
• Rubrik and/or Avamar experience a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Rubrik and/or Avamar or similar.
Certifications:
• Relevant certifications in system support or related technologies are a plus.
