Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. in Augusta, Maine, is seeking an entry-level engineer to support design and construction activities across civil, electrical, mechanical, and automation disciplines.

You'll assist in drawings, calculations, cost estimates, and QA/QC, while developing knowledge of company standards and safety procedures. Travel may be required; salary ranges from $76,003 to $82,680 per year; benefits include medical, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or an Associate Degree with appropriate engineering experience.
• Must be able to perform design activities involving drawings, calculations, specifications, and industry standards.
• Develop knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Communications, Computer, or Automation Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Perform design activities requiring a basic understanding of drawings, calculations, specifications, and industry standards applicable to the assigned work.
• Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings, calculations, cost estimates, specifications, evaluations, and requisitions.
• Develop professional knowledge in Civil, Distribution, Substation Design, Substation Automation, Power Systems Analysis, Communications, Electrical Control Systems, Protective Relaying, and Transmission Systems.
• Develop knowledge of the Company's design, construction, QA/QC, and safety standards and documentation control.
• Maintain complete and accurate records and ensure quality of all work.
• May be required to travel to support work.
• Other duties as required.

Overview

Perform an entry level engineering role in the design or construction aspects of engineering projects and assists other departmental engineers.

Responsibilities

1. Perform design activities requiring a basic understanding of drawings, calculations, specifications, and industry standards and practices covering the assigned work.
2. Shall have a basic knowledge of the theory, practices, and procedures pertaining to engineering matters in one or more of the following areas:
   • Civil Engineering
   • Electrical Engineering
   • Mechanical Engineering
   • Communications Systems
   • Computer Engineering
   • Automation Systems
3. Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings, calculations, cost estimates, specifications, evaluations, and requisitions.
4. Develop professional work knowledge and abilities in one or more of the following areas:
   • Civil Engineering
   • Distribution Engineering
   • Substation Design
   • Substation Automation
   • Power Systems Analysis
   • Communications Systems
   • Electrical Control Systems
   • Protective Relaying
   • Transmission Systems
5. Develop knowledge of the Company's design, construction, QA/QC, and safety standards and the Company document control system.
6. Responsible for complete and accurate record keeping and quality of all work performed.
7. May be required to travel to support work.
8. Other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Shall have a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited engineering program or an Associate Degree in Engineering with the appropriate experience at a Designer level.

Compensation

In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation

Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
