Under general supervision of the Senior Director of Systems Development & IT Support, (Computer Systems Manager, M-1), with wide latitude for independent initiative and judgment, the Computer Specialist (Software) II functions as Systems Developer responsible for developing, implementing, enhancing, and maintaining custom applications and reports from systems like ASSETS, Oracle DataMart, and others used by the Office of Child Support Services (OCSS), including the HRA Enterprise Data Warehouse. The Systems Developer produces complex reports from ASSETS data to support agency initiatives, designing and developing reports in the HRA Enterprise Data Warehouse and other HRA systems.

The Office of Child Support Services is recruiting for one (1) System Programmer who will:

  1. Program and generate custom reports from OCSS DataMart based on business specifications, using PL/SQL, .NET Studio, Oracle, SQL Server, MS Access, and other tools as deemed necessary. Conduct quality assurance and testing of reports.
  2. Program custom reports using the HRA Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), extracting data relevant to child support, referrals, benefit statuses, and outcomes.
  3. Plan and develop custom systems to support emerging needs, providing programming analysis, designing process flows, and working with tools like NET Studio, MS Access, Oracle 10g, SQL Plus.
  4. Develop programs for data matching against OCSS data for ad hoc report requests, evaluating data files and producing outcome reports.
  5. Analyze custom report requests to determine effort and delivery timeframes, and evaluate change requests for existing reports, managing enhancements and bug fixes.
  6. Provide strategic analysis on hardware and software licensing issues to the Senior Director.

Work location: 150 Greenwich Street, New York NY 10007

Hours: 9am-5pm

Minimum Qualifications include a relevant degree with 24 credits in computer science or related field and 2 years of software experience, or a high school diploma with 6 years of experience, or an equivalent combination. Experience as a project leader or major contributor on complex projects is required for certain levels.

This position is also open to qualified persons with disabilities through the 55-a Program. Residency in NYC is not required. The salary range is approximately $96,086 to $123,796 annually.
