The Financial Analyst ensures the Pharmacy Charge Master is accurate and assists in monitoring billing activities, maintaining and monitoring billing using Craneware and/or other applicable software. The individual provides support for the health plan including pharmaceutical utilization and quality management, acts as lead for formulary management including updating the current formulary to maintain compliance with regularly released CMS guidance, clinical practice guidelines, member utilization, market availability, serves as a resource for drug and product information and assists in maintaining any prior authorization protocols as well as other ad hoc support documents that may be needed for revenue cycle.
The functions of the position include assisting the members of the department, updating policies, processes and systems and ensuring compliance
The analytical support functions require much computer use & a mid-high level of familiarity with many software applications
Required is the ability to work independently, problem solve, communicate effectively, and a general knowledge of budgets, productivity standards or reimbursement issues depending on the department of Finance in which employed.
1-2 years healthcare finance experience preferred
5+ years Pharmacy Billing experience preferred
