Job summary

Syntagma Group in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an on-site Automation Specialist with 3+ years in information systems or automation. You will ensure safety commitments, monitor performance, and coordinate with maintenance to keep warehouse operations running smoothly.

The role requires strong communication, leadership, and the ability to learn new equipment. You will troubleshoot stoppages, maintain logs, and work with both on-site managers and off-site engineers to resolve issues.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety commitments compliant with OSHA and customers' processes are met daily.
  • Monitor system performance and availability of personnel and automated machinery.
  • Coordinate scheduling of orders and inventory reception with customers.
  • Troubleshoot system stoppages and maintain system up-time.
  • Communicate and troubleshoot software issues with off-site engineers and on-site team.
  • Plan daily activities and coordinate maintenance with the Automation Manager.
  • Maintain accurate logs of major events.
  • Become on-site software expert and understand system interrelations.
  • Assess causes of robotic vehicle failures, examine logs, alert service personnel.
  • Assist and train other automation operators in troubleshooting and repairs.

Job description

  • Ensure that the safety commitments in compliance with OSHA and our customers' processes and procedures are met daily.
  • Monitor system performance and availability of both personnel and automated machinery
  • Work with customer to schedule and produce orders and receive inventory.
  • Troubleshoot system stoppages and determine best course of action to maintain system up-time.
  • Effectively communicate and troubleshoot software issues with off-site software engineers and on-site management team.
  • Plan daily activities and coordinate system maintenance with maintenance personnel and Automation Manager based upon daily needs of warehouse operations.
  • Maintain accurate logs of major events.
  • Become the on-site software expert with an excellent understanding of system interrelations and consequences.
  • Assess cause of automated robotic vehicle failure, examine log files and take detailed notes and alert service personnel.
  • Assist and train other automation team operators in troubleshooting and repairs of any equipment as required, consistent with level of experience and training.
Education and Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years in an Information Systems, Computer and/or automation experience desired.
  • Experience to lead and guide employees on daily standard work.
  • Strong communication skill to be able to effectively communicate cross-functionally.
  • Brings strong organizational skills to ensure overall systems is operating efficiently.
  • Ability to learn new equipment and assist team members as needed.
  • Ability to Multi-task and perform multiple job functions at once.
  • There will be steep stairs to climb into the structure.
  • You will regularly be near railings that are high off the ground.
  • Subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily temperature changes. Must be capable of working in temperatures ranging from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit.
  • If the site location is in construction, you will be required to wear proper PPE (hard hat, safety vest, steel toes, eyeglasses, ear protection, fall protection (e.g., safety harness)).
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent ability to safely and efficiently lift items weighing up to 50lbs and move items weighing up to 80lbs.
  • Stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours and is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is routinely required to work at heights of up to 45 feet and within restrictive areas of 24 inches. to stand; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must be capable of occasional and/or continuous feeling, seeing, hearing, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, balancing, gripping, climbing, crawling, sitting, handling objects, and repetitive movement using both hands and feet. Must comply with all safety requirements and protocols, including without limitation
