Qualifications

Position Summary:
As the System Nurse Residency Coordinator, you will lead the strategic design, implementation, and continuous enhancement of a standardized, evidence-based nurse residency program that spans all Indiana University Health locations. Your efforts will ensure that new graduate nurses experience a consistent, high-quality transition-to-practice journey—building competence, confidence, and fostering long-term career growth within Indiana’s premier healthcare system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, execution, and ongoing refinement of a robust nurse residency program aligned with Indiana University Health’s mission, professional standards, and national best practices.
- Oversee all program components that support resident success, including:- Preceptor development and sustainability
- Mentorship structures
- Transition support for professional roles
- Unit onboarding processes

- Serve as the primary leader for obtaining and maintaining national accreditation (e.g., ANCC PTAP, CCNE) for the nurse residency program.
- Manage data collection, analysis, and reporting on key metrics such as nurse retention, satisfaction, competence, turnover, and career progression.
- Collaborate closely with nursing leadership, educators, professional development teams, and academic partners across Indiana University Health to ensure the program meets workforce needs and evolving practice trends.
- Develop standardized educational content, timelines, and evaluation tools applicable across all care settings within the system.
- Provide system-wide leadership and consultation to promote consistent program implementation across all entities.
- Prepare and present regular reports to nursing executive leadership, highlighting program outcomes, accreditation status, and opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in nursing, Education, or related field required; Doctorate preferred.
- Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in nursing professional development and/or academic-practice partnership.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating enterprise-wide programs in large health systems.
- Knowledge of national nurse residency accreditation standards (e.g., ANCC PTAP or CCNE).
- Strong skills in data tracking, program evaluation, and outcome reporting.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and organizational leadership skills.
