Job summary

  • Coordinate system updates to minimize vulnerabilities and risks.
  • Provide metrics, logs, and reports; respond to alerts with root-cause analysis.
  • Maintain documentation and tools; perform preventive maintenance.
  • Support the Site Lead with additional duties as assigned.

Job description

Summary: We are looking for a System/Network Administrator to support the Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) Squadron Operations Center (SOC). This position provides capability for RPA-SOC mission planning, crew training, airspace coordination, tasking/targeting updates, threat warning/awareness, data archival and retrieval, establishing and maintaining situational awareness, video, and data dissemination in support of mission execution, intelligence, weather administration and communications. This position will provide system administration and customer support for associated systems.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure proper configuration/maintenance of equipment and IT services to include, but not limited to, servers (physical and virtual), OS, desktops, intercom, video dissemination, file share, Active Directory, routers, switches, firewalls, crypto and other communications equipment necessary for the successful operation of the system enterprise
  • Interface directly with Air Force, DoD, and other contractor communication maintenance personnel for the Ground Control Stations, Unified Video Distribution System, and long-haul communication support for system enterprise connectivity
  • Comply with DoD, AF, and IC computer/network security protocols and advise the appropriate IA Officer whenever unauthorized hardware/software is detected on supported equipment
  • Analyze, troubleshoot and maintain RPA-SOC computer and network systems, including troubleshooting LAN/WAN communications, firewalls, operations support for Microsoft Windows operating systems, and networks
  • Administration of network security infrastructure systems, as required
  • Administration of checkpoint firewalls and other security systems, as required
  • Coordinate system updates to ensure security vulnerabilities and risk remain as low as possible
  • Establish baselines, provide metrics and regular reporting as directed
  • Respond to alerts and take corrective action; provide root cause analysis and suggest improvements
  • Maintain appropriate logs, databases and history to perform trending analysis and take proactive steps to ensure the proper operation of systems
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance Inspections on IT systems
  • Maintain appropriate tools to assist in the execution of duties
  • Maintain appropriate and current documentation of systems
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Lead
Qualifications
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in system/network administration troubleshooting and support
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Active Directory, switching, routing, IT cabling, patch panels, associated terminals, and related network hardware and software
  • Comprehensive knowledge of server and desktop operating systems and applications
  • Ability to analyze and suggest recommended improvements to the industrial control system programs and systems to meet industry standards and best practices
  • Strong IT Customer Support skills; ability to quickly interpret/decipher requests and trouble reporting for large non-IT customer bases
  • Ability to work varying shifts, as required; ability to work independently on shifts as required, after initial training
  • Familiarity with network security best practices
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively

Minimum Qualifications:

  • DOD 8140/8570.01 Certification (i.e., CompTIA Security+)
  • Experience as a System Administrator or Network Administrator (or a similar role)
  • Experience with maintaining essential IT and OT network operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, and workstations
  • Familiarity with security systems, including security groups, group policy, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentications systems, log management, and content filtering
  • Must have an active Secret Security Clearance, with the ability to upgrade to Top Secret Clearance
