Job summary

Symbotic is seeking an experienced Senior Manager to lead System Modeling & Design Simulation, guiding mathematical models, simulation frameworks, and predictive analytics for future robotic systems. You will drive throughput, capacity planning, and performance forecasting while partnering with cross-functional teams to optimize product architectures.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in system simulation, modeling, operations research, robotics, controls, or related disciplines.
• 3+ years of engineering management experience.
• Experience leading teams of 5-10 engineers.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the strategy for system modeling, engineering simulation, and design optimization.
• Develop mathematical models representing robotic systems, workflows, operational processes, and system behaviors.
• Lead creation of simulation tools used to evaluate future product architectures and design concepts.
• Build capabilities for throughput analysis, capacity planning, system optimization, and performance forecasting.
• Drive design-space exploration and trade-off analysis for next-generation products and technologies.
• Develop discrete-event, operational, and system-level simulations supporting strategic engineering decisions.
• Partner with architecture, controls, mechanical, and software teams to analyze design alternatives and optimize system performance.
• Establish quantitative methodologies and predictive models that improve decision-making across the organization.
• Lead and develop a team of 5-10 simulation and modeling engineers.
• Establish technical standards and modeling best practices.
• Support hiring, mentoring, and career growth of technical staff.
