Job summary

Citizens Energy Group in Indianapolis, Indiana is seeking a System Inspector to join our team. The role focuses on system integrity protection, daily audits, and inspections of SAMCO conflicts across the network.

You will conduct leak surveys, water main inspections, and coordinate with Utility Specialists and Water Distribution Supervisors. A valid Indiana driver’s license and a high school diploma are required, with extensive field work.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Indiana driver's license required.
• Ability to work in various positions, including sitting, bending, standing, walking, climbing or lifting.

Responsibilities

• Mark all critical mains within the system and back check all SAMCO marks on critical mains.
• Mark all water lines at Citizens Water facilities.
• Enforce Citizens Water standards and rules with contractors and ensure policies are upheld.
• Update GIS mapping with discrepancies found in the field.
• Investigate and inspect damaged water mains and service lines; complete forms and Pay Job documents.
• Leak Surveys
• Stream/highway crossing inspections
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Overview

We have an exciting opportunity as an System Inspector to join our team!

The successful candidate will primarily perform functions of system integrity protection. Responsible for critical main audits on a daily basis. Conducts inspections of all SAMCO (utility marking) conflicts within the entire system. Conducts leak surveys as well as stream/highway crossing inspections. This position works both individually and in conjunction with Utility Specialist and Water Distribution Supervisors.

Minimum Salary:$54,400 (Grade 6)

Responsibilities

• Required to mark all critical mains within the system and back check all SAMCO marks on critical mains.

• When dealing with contractors enforce all Citizens Water standards and rules and ensure all Citizens Water policies and procedures are upheld.
• Ensure that corrections are made to the GIS mapping system when discrepancies are found in the field.

Qualifications

• Maintain a Valid Indiana Drivers License
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• Ability to work in various positions, which require but are not limited to sitting, bending, standing, walking, climbing or lifting

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

• 3 years of experience using pipe locating technology
• 1 year of experience with leak correlators
