Prisma Health is seeking a System Medical Director of Gastroenterology to lead strategy and operations across South Carolina and Eastern Tennessee. This role blends approximately 50% clinical practice with 50% administrative leadership, driving quality, access, and program growth in a large academically integrated GI service line.

The position emphasizes collaboration with administrative leaders, workforce development, and multidisciplinary programs, with a focus on physician and APP recruitment

Qualifications

• MD or DO with Board Certification in Gastroenterology.
• Eligible for South Carolina and Tennessee medical licensure.
• Five or more years of leadership experience in a clinical, academic, or health system setting.
• Demonstrated success in clinical excellence, quality improvement, operations, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Responsabilités

• Develop and execute a systemwide vision and strategy for Gastroenterology.
• Align GI services, endoscopy operations, and specialty programs across multiple regions.
• Lead initiatives to improve quality, safety, patient outcomes, and care standardization.
• Partner with operational leaders to enhance access, efficiency, throughput, and financial performance.
• Support physician and APP recruitment, retention, mentorship, and leadership development.
• Advance multidisciplinary programs in hepatology, IBD, GI oncology, advanced endoscopy, and population health.
• Utilize data and analytics to drive performance improvement and reduce variation across sites.
