Job Description

As System Engineering Lead, you will drive the technical direction for our next-generation wired networking hardware. You will work with our Product team to align business requirements and industrial design with cost, manufacturability, and technical feasibility constraints.

You will collaborate with electrical engineers responsible for various hardware sub-systems to ensure their successful integration into the overall system. Working closely with mechanical engineers, you'll optimize component placement, thermal management, and reliability. Additionally, you'll partner with software teams to ensure hardware capabilities are accessible through simple setup and management interfaces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define hardware system architecture and technical requirements for advanced multi-gigabit Ethernet switching and gateway products.
  • Drive hardware platform decisions, including selection of networking ASICs, PoE solutions, power architecture, and thermal management strategies.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for architecture and performance specifications across the wired networking product line.
  • Lead technical design reviews, participate in bring-up of new designs, and resolve complex system-level issues.
  • Define design and test strategies to meet validation, certification, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across multiple wired networking programs.
  • Support manufacturing during NPI and transition to mass production.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in system-level hardware design for wired networking devices.
  • 5+ years of experience leading technical teams.
  • Knowledge of PCB design, high-speed digital interfaces, and PoE electronics.
  • Deep understanding of Ethernet protocols, networking architectures, and standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a relevant technical field.
  • Experience with multi-gig Ethernet switch ASICs.
  • Knowledge of thermal management, EMI/EMC compliance, and power systems.
  • Experience with testing methodologies and automation frameworks.
  • Track record of delivering complex networking products from concept to production.
  • Experience in designing consumer electronics for cost and manufacturability.
