Staffing Science is seeking a Systems Engineer/Administrator to lead a global migration from VMware to Nutanix AHV/AOS. This contract-to-hire role targets professionals who can plan, validate, and execute migrations with minimal downtime.

Candidates should have deep hands-on VMware vSphere/ESXi/vCenter experience, Nutanix AHV/AOS migration projects, and scripting skills for automation. onsite/hybrid work from Chandler, AZ, with potential full-time conversion.

Qualifications

• Hands-on VMware vSphere/ESXi/vCenter administration.

Responsibilities

• Execute enterprise-scale migration of virtualized workloads from VMware to Nutanix AHV/AOS.

• Rightsize and re-architect infrastructure during migration rather than lift-and-shift.
• Manage and administer Nutanix Prism Central/Element environments post-migration.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and networking teams for a global rollout.
• Document migration runbooks, validation checklists, and post-migration support procedures.

About the Opportunity

Our client, a well-established organization undergoing a major infrastructure modernization initiative, is seeking Systems Engineers/Administrators to lead a global migration off VMware onto Nutanix. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with strong potential for full-time conversion for the right candidates.

What You'll Do

• Execute enterprise-scale migration of virtualized workloads from VMware (vSphere/ESXi/vCenter) to Nutanix AHV/AOS
• Utilize Nutanix Move and related tooling to plan, validate, and execute VM migrations with minimal downtime

What You Bring

• Deep hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter administration
• Proven Nutanix AHV/AOS experience — real migration project experience strongly preferred over certification alone
• Nutanix certification (NCP-MCI or NCA) a plus
• Experience with backup/DR tooling (Veeam, Rubrik, or similar) in a hypervisor transition context
• Scripting ability (PowerShell/Python) for migration automation and validation
• Strong communication skills — this role interfaces directly with stakeholders across a global infrastructure footprint

Candidates based in or willing to work from the Chandler, AZ area strongly preferred, as this role has a path to full-time conversion tied to a physical hub location.
