Job summary

NBCUniversal System Engineer, Remote IT Operations will support IT services that keep live events and remote operations running smoothly. You will blend technical expertise with operational excellence, ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable technology at remote sites.

Collaborate with Broadcast Engineering, Digital, and Corporate Security, manage remote infrastructure, travel for high-profile events, and contribute to AI initiatives to boost performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years in network infrastructure and LAN/WAN systems.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication across teams and vendors.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and travel as needed.

Job Description

The System Engineer, Remote IT Operations will play a key role in supporting the IT services that keep our live events and remote operations running smoothly. This position blends technical expertise with operational excellence - ensuring our teams are equipped with reliable, secure, and scalable technology, wherever the work takes them.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver IT support for remote operations, including laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and network services.
  • Manage inventory, installation, and configuration of remote infrastructure kits.
  • Maintain documentation and updates for LAN/WAN connectivity supporting NBCU remotes.
  • Track equipment and scheduling through the remote operations calendar.
  • Partner closely with Broadcast Engineering, Digital, and Corporate Security to support convergence of broadcast and IT technologies.
  • Oversee coordination with external hardware, software, and communication vendors.
  • Identify and implement new technology initiatives and agentive AI to enhance operational efficiency and performance.
  • Develop and maintain IT and networking dashboards for remote operations.
  • Travel to remote sites to provide IT support during high-profile events.
  • Contribute to additional projects and assignments as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent training/experience.
  • 3+ years of strong knowledge of network infrastructure systems and sub-systems (routers, switches, LAN/WAN).
  • Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to collaborate across teams and vendors.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies and IT/broadcast convergence.
  • Ability to effectively influence, energize, and coach others.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and non-traditional hours as needed.
  • Ability to travel extensively in support of remote events.

Required Onsite

This position has been designated as required onsite, which currently requires contributing from the office five days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in‑office requirements at any time.
