Job summary

NBCUniversal is seeking creative engineers to own the engineering, operations, support, deployment and maintenance of core Distribution Engineering Playout systems, both on-premises and in the cloud.

Responsibilities include provisioning automation, evaluating products, driving CI/CD, and mentoring SREs, with on-call 24/7 support on a rotating shift. Hybrid schedule with in-office presence required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 5+ yrs. experience in modern infrastructure deployment and maintenance.
  • Experience with enterprise configuration management tools and automation platforms (e.g. Ansible, Terraform).
  • Expert architecting / configuring hosted cloud services (AWS, GCP or Azure).
  • Expert with networking and cloud-based network environments.
  • Expert with containerization & Kubernetes.
  • Experience with CI/CD build and deployment practices.
  • Experience in administrating Linux environments.
  • Automate-first mindset; automate everything.
  • Proficient in scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, Perl, Ruby, Bash).
  • Ability to use Agile process for project management, development & tracking.
  • Comfortable in fast-paced agile environments.

Responsibilities

Job Description

NBCU is looking for creative engineers willing to learn from the current process but are not afraid to think outside of the box. This role is responsible for the engineering, operations, support, deployment and maintenance of core Distribution Engineering Playout systems, both on-premises and cloud.

  • This role requires on-call 24/7 support on a rotating shift schedule

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced agile environment. Requirements change quickly and our team needs to adapt to moving targets
