Job summary

Crane Aerospace and Electronics in Burbank, CA is seeking a Systems Engineer III to design, analyze, and develop aerospace products with minimal supervision. You’ll collaborate across engineering, operations, quality, and program management to meet cost, schedule, and reliability targets, using MBSE, model-based workflows, and established industry standards.

The role requires a BA/BS in engineering, 5 years of relevant experience, and familiarity with ARP4754, DO-178/DO-254/DO-160, and Simulink.

Qualifications

  • BA or BS Degree in an engineering discipline, with Mechanical preferred.
  • Experience with system development following ARP4754 and DO-178/DO-254/DO-160.
  • Knowledge of requirements management and verification.

The Engineer III works on new product designs, modernization, and upgrades, as well as performs extensive analyses toensure cost, quality, and customer requirements. The Systems Engineer III also uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform daily assignments, applying principles of science and mathematics to develop economical solutions to technical problems.Essential Functions:Work effectively with all functional groups to achieve product performance and cost targets. Build quality and manufacturability into the design. Define/understand/comply with company and regulatory guidelines to assure a safe operating environment.Model Based Systems Engineering – create and maintain models and perform what if and use cases utilizing simulation.Demonstrate proficiency with verbal and written English for technical reports, presentations, analyses, or other communications at the appropriate level throughout the organization.Understand, decompose, and define product and process requirements to support product development, sustaining and R&D.Plan, estimate, prioritize, and manage work activities to support meeting project schedules and budgets.Utilize experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
