Position Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a System Engineer for Lunar Surface Camera to join Aerodyne.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Lunar Camera Surface for the Extravehicular Activity and Human Surface Mobility Program (EHP).
  • Assist in engineering project scheduling, procurement, budgeting, and system requirements documentation.
  • Develop and support sub-project requirement and verification data packages for architecture, design, verification, validation, operations, and engineering.
  • Conduct product lifecycle reviews, coordinate integration, verification, and validation activities.
  • Align requirements with hardware specifications and verification processes.
  • Perform system engineering functions and provide user feedback during design.
  • Work with hardware ground testing and flight operations, including documentation.
  • Review verification and validation reports for compliance.
  • Participate in system requirements, preliminary, and critical design reviews.
  • Support development of Lunar Con-Ops.
  • Perform system architecture trade studies influencing electrical design and performance.
  • Participate in hardware testing, verification, and operation.
  • Identify risks, develop risk statements, and plan responses.
  • Communicate schedule and progress to stakeholders.
  • Maintain good communication and organizational skills, work effectively in teams.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Job Requirements

This position may be posted at multiple levels. Candidates will be considered based on experience, requirements, and business needs.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5–10 years of relevant experience; licenses/certifications may be required.
  • 10 years' experience in systems engineering.
  • On-site presence in B44 (telework only situational).
  • Knowledge of SE&I processes, methodologies, tools, including model-based systems engineering.
  • Understanding of test principles, tools, and processes.
  • Knowledge of space hardware design, engineering drawings, material selection.
  • Ability to prepare documentation and present verbally.
  • Organizational and prioritization skills, ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Flight Hardware and Processes.
  • Experience with NASA processes (e.g., EA-023).
  • Experience with DOORS Next Generation.
