System Engineer/Cloud Engineer, Journeyman

Job Description:

We are seeking a System Engineer with at least 3 years of relevant experience within the last 5 years. This role involves working closely with system users to translate requirements into functional system designs. The successful candidate will be responsible for solving engineering problems, managing solutions, and participating in the development of test strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Engage with system users to understand their needs and translate them into detailed hardware, software, and system requirements.
  2. Support the design, development, and modification of systems based on user input and technical expertise.
  3. Participate in the creation and execution of test strategies to validate system functionality.
  4. Address engineering challenges within the assigned functional area.
  5. Manage or guide the solution of engineering problems.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of system specifications with user needs.
  7. Leverage containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) in the system development process.
  8. Preferred experience with RedHat OpenShift for managing and scaling applications in a containerized environment.
Education Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or another Engineering/Technical discipline is required. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

Clearance Requirement:

Active Top Secret / SCI clearance required.

Required Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience within the last 5 years.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in systems engineering or related technical fields.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in a technical environment.
  • Familiarity with RedHat OpenShift and its use in managing containerized applications.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and collaborate effectively with a diverse team.
  • Familiarity with the US Army DCGS-A FoS.
