Our client, Engineering Infrastructure & Systems Research is seeking a System Engineer 5 to join their team. As a System Engineer 5, you will be part of the Applications Dev & Test organization supporting a small, high-impact research engineering team building a new micro-VM platform optimized for low-latency, high-density agentic workloads. The ideal candidate will have strong Linux fundamentals, a track record of CI/CD and automation, and the ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues which will align successfully in the organization.
System Engineer 5

Provision and manage multi-platform cloud compute environments to support engineering and testing needs.
Automate environment configuration to reduce setup overhead and keep infrastructure friction low.
Own benchmarking infrastructure for VM lifecycle measurements, including boot latency, snapshot/restore, teardown, memory footprint, and throughput.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated build/test/validation workflows across project repositories.
Investigate performance or test regressions and improve validation reliability through reproducible experiments.
3+ years of Linux systems administration and OS-level troubleshooting experience.
3+ years of CI/CD, test infrastructure, and engineering automation experience.
3+ years of systems/infrastructure engineering experience, including virtualization, cloud compute environments, and scripting.
Strong open-source/GitHub track record demonstrating technical work and measurable contributions.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering (required).
Meaningful ownership of infrastructure that directly unblocks engineering velocity and validation confidence.
