We’re a next-generation Satellite Communications (SatCom) company based in Maryland, operating out of a brand-new, cutting-edge facility dedicated to the development of high-performance RF and antenna technologies. Our team is focused on building the most advanced, reliable, and scalable solutions for next-gen satellite user terminals, gateways, and ground-based systems.

As Principal Systems Engineer, you will be a technical leader responsible for the end-to-end definition, design, and integration of high-frequency RF and antenna systems, particularly phased arrays and electronically steered antennas (ESAs). You’ll work across disciplines RF, digital, mechanical, software, test to ensure seamless performance of our SatCom terminals.

This role is perfect for someone with deep antenna or RF experience and a systems mindset particularly those coming from programs like Amazon’s Project Kuiper, OneWeb, or similar advanced aerospace initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Own system-level architecture and requirements for Ka-/Ku-band SatCom terminals, including link budgets, antenna performance, and RF chain integration
• Lead cross-functional technical planning, coordinating RF, antenna, digital, mechanical, and software teams to ensure system alignment
• Define performance specifications: G/T, EIRP, beam scan, polarization, and phase noise
• Drive design decisions across beamforming architectures, RFIC integration, radome performance, and thermal tradeoffs
• Oversee development and validation of phased array antennas, RF front ends, and supporting control systems
• Support antenna testing: anechoic chamber testing, OTA validation, and system-level troubleshooting
• Collaborate with test engineering to design validation plans and analyze performance vs. spec
• Engage in design reviews and program milestones across product lifecycle (from concept to manufacturing ramp)

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in RF systems, antenna systems, or SatCom product development
• Proven background with Ka-/Ku-band systems, especially user terminals, gateway antennas, or payload antennas
• Experience working on phased arrays, beamforming, or ESA platforms
• Strong understanding of RF signal chains, link budgets, system-level tradeoffs, and multi-domain integration
• Hands-on familiarity with simulation tools (HFSS, CST, ADS), as well as requirements management and system modeling
• Experience with antenna calibration, beam steering, or signal integrity at high frequency
• Strong communication and documentation skills to lead multi-disciplinary teams

Nice to Have

• Experience with Project Kuiper, Starlink, OneWeb, or equivalent LEO/GEO programs
• Background in DFX, DFM, or space-qualified hardware
• Experience with radiation analysis, thermal modeling, or mechanical-RF integration
