Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field required.
• 5+ years of systems engineering or administration experience.
• Experience with Linux and Windows Server environments.
• Scripting experience with shell, PowerShell or Python.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Designs, installs and configures servers, operating systems and system software.
• Maintains development, test and production environments.
• Applies patches, updates and security hardening settings.
• Monitors system performance and resolves infrastructure issues.
• Automates system tasks and deployments with scripts and configuration tools.
• Supports backup, recovery and disaster recovery planning.
• Maintains system documentation and diagrams.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Designs, installs and configures servers, operating systems and system software.
• Maintains development, test and production environments.
• Applies patches, updates and security hardening settings.
• Monitors system performance and resolves infrastructure issues.
• Automates system tasks and deployments with scripts and configuration tools.
• Supports backup, recovery and disaster recovery planning.
• Maintains system documentation and diagrams.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5+ years of systems engineering or administration experience.
• Experience with Linux and Windows Server environments.
• Experience with virtualization or cloud platforms such as VMware, AWS or Azure.
• Scripting experience with shell, PowerShell or Python.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Continually required to use common office equipment including but not limited to computers, phones, scanners and printers.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, RHCE or AWS/Azure certifications.
• Experience with configuration tools such as Ansible or Terraform.
• Experience supporting federal government contracts.

Compensation:$73,092 – $81,214 per year
