Vertilocity is seeking a System Engineer to deliver high-level IT support across client environments. The role emphasizes problem solving, quick learning of new technologies, and hands-on configuration of networking, security, and server infrastructure.

The candidate will work on-site at client locations, with travel as needed, and should gain certifications while supporting backup/DR strategies and Azure integrations.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher or relevant military training required.
• 4–6 years of IT experience with practical support experience.
• Experience with PSA and RMM tools and network technologies.
• Experience in switching, routing and firewall configurations.
• Fortinet experience preferred; Cisco/SonicWALL is a plus.
• Must have experience with static and software-based VPNs.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Server, Azure Platform, AD/DNS/DHCP.
• Experience with Remote Desktop Services/Azure Virtual Desktop a plus.
• MCSA/MSCE certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide top-tier hands-on support for client accounts.
• Ensure deployment consistency with Vertilocity standards.
• Manage escalated issues and post-review resolutions.
• Maintain client technical documentation and contact info.
• Configure firewalls, wireless, switches, servers and desktops as needed.
• Manage backup and disaster recovery planning and execution.
• Prepare deliverables for Quarterly Business Reviews.
• Identify opportunities within assigned clients and assist sales.

The individual in performing this role is experienced and knowledgeable in the technical details of support technologies. In addition, a System Engineer has the ability to quickly adapt to technologies that may be newly released or non-standard.A System Engineer will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to individuals at all levels of an organization. The role will ensure the client is confident in Vertilocity's ability to successfully implement and configure solutions recommend by Vertilocity.A System Engineer will stay up to date on the solutions being introduced, whether they be an all-encompassing solution or third-party add-ons. The technological aspects of this role requires an interest and curiosity in fully understanding solutions. Therefore, training, self-study, and continuous improvement of skills are evaluation factors for a System Engineer.This role requires an individual to be team-oriented and be open and honest about their abilities and deficiencies. Then, as a team, Vertilocity's can address the immediate problems and improve areas of need per the individual.A System Engineer will provide services at a client's location, and the ability to travel to the client is required (mostly local).A System Engineer should gain certification in any solution in which Vertilocity is presenting to our clientele.This role calls for solid writing skills and organization. Ensure consistent implementation of deployed technologies and Vertilocity standards.Manage escalated issues with Support Technicians and provide post-review on resolved escalated incidents.Continuously maintain client technical documentation.Maintain client user contact information and ensure each supported individual's information is current and accurate.Implement configurations for firewalls, wireless solutions, switches, servers, as well desktop/pcs for future use for each supported client.Have the ability to manage Backup and Disaster Recovery Systems.
