Job summary

Cypress HCM seeks a Systems Engineer to bridge software and systems engineering for the Arene service platform's SDK and Tools initiatives. The role requires defining requirements, designing architectures, and working across embedded and distributed software environments to deliver scalable vehicle software platforms.

Job description

• We are seeking a Systems Engineer who operates at the intersection of software and systems engineering to support the Arene service platform's SDK and Tools initiatives.
• The ideal candidate is a strong technical problem solver with experience defining requirements, designing system and software architectures, and working within complex embedded or distributed software environments. This individual will collaborate closely with systems engineering, software engineering, product, and global teams to develop scalable and reliable solutions for next-generation vehicle software platforms.
• Successful candidates will be comfortable discussing how they approach system design problems, create technical artifacts, and communicate technical decisions throughout the product development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with systems engineering, software engineering, product, and global teams to design and implement solutions for our new service platform (SDK and Tools).
• Define, decompose, and document system and software requirements for complex products and platforms.
• Design and document system and software architectures, including technical specifications and interface definitions.
• Create and maintain technical artifacts, including:
• Architecture and design diagrams
• State machines
• Technical specifications
• Develop testable system requirements and establish requirements traceability.
• Participate in system architecture and design reviews.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software and system-level issues.
• Translate business and engineering requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Support SDK and engineering tooling initiatives across embedded and distributed software systems.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of Systems Engineering experience supporting complex software, embedded systems, or hardware/software products.
• Experience defining and documenting detailed system and software requirements.
• Experience designing and documenting system and software architectures.
• Strong understanding of software systems, software stacks, and embedded systems concepts.
• Experience creating technical artifacts such as architecture diagrams, specifications, requirements documentation, and system models.
• Ability to communicate and defend technical design decisions.
• Experience collaborating across systems and software engineering disciplines.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Technical Requirements

Candidates with significant systems engineering experience using equivalent MBSE or requirements management tools are encouraged to apply.

• Systems Engineering & MBSE: Experience with MBSE methodologies and associated tools for creating and documenting system and software architectures.
• Experience with tools such as: CATIA, Strictdoc, Jama, SysML, UML
• Programming Languages: C++, Python (Exposure to Golang is a plus)
• Embedded & Software Systems
• Embedded software and firmware development concepts
• Software stacks and distributed software architectures
• Middleware and inter-process communication frameworks
• Real-time and Linux-based software systems
• Requirements traceability and systems documentation
