A leading healthcare provider is seeking a System Director of Movement Disorders to lead a comprehensive program in New York. Northwell Health’s Department of Neurology is seeking a dynamic and accomplished physician leader to serve as our System Director of Movement Disorders for the Western Region (Manhattan, Staten Island, and Westchester). This is an exceptional opportunity to lead and further develop one of the largest and most comprehensive Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders programs in the Northeast.
About the Program:
Northwell’s Parkinson's and Movement disorders program is among the largest in the Northeast, and provides comprehensive medical, rehabilitative, and surgical care in its primary academic locations and care centers. The surgical program includes an active deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) program and High-intensityfocused ultrasound(HIFU). The Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders Center multidisciplinary team includes specialty-trained, board-certified neurologists and neurosurgeons, as well as nurse practitioners, nurses, neuropsychologists and social workers.The Center closely collaborates with Northwell’s Rehabilitation Network,including occupational, physical, speech and other therapists, all dedicated to helping people with Parkinson’s disease lead active and satisfying lives.
We have also established at Glen Cove Hospital in Long Island a unique, dedicated, and specialized 12-bed Parkinson's and movement disorders inpatient unit, which offers advanced rehabilitation services and medical and surgical optimization to patients with more advanced disease and is integrated with the DBS program for post-surgical programming combined with intense rehabilitation and medication optimization. The program has recently received Joint Commission certification, and it has affirmed itself as the leading inpatient program in the US.
