Position Overview

The System Director of Informatics provides strategic leadership for the planning, implementation, optimization, and governance of clinical information systems across the health system. This role is responsible for leading enterprise-wide informatics initiatives, including Electronic Health Record (EHR) oversight, clinical workflow optimization, system adoption, change management, and continuous process improvement. This leader collaborates with stakeholders across the organization to drive innovation, leverage data-informed decision-making, and advance digital transformation efforts that improve quality, safety, and patient outcomes.

Primary Department, Division, or Unit: Information Systems, UHS Information Systems Operations

Primary Work Shift: Day

Regular Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Compensation Range: $72.10 - $108.15 per hour, depending on experience

Minimum requirements

• Registered Nurse in the state of New York
• Master's degree in Informatics or Nursing Informatics
• 7 to 10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in healthcare systems, clinical informatics, healthcare technology, operational excellence, or related functions.
• Experience overseeing Electronic Health Record systems required.

Preferred

• Experience leading large-scale clinical transformation or EMR implementation
• Epic certification (or obtained within 6 months of assuming the role)
