Amazon Consumer Payments team at Amazon India Development Center, Bangalore, is looking for developers to design and build next-generation global payments solutions that revolutionize the way customers pay. The team manages all Amazon-branded payment offerings globally, including Amazon Co-Branded Credit Cards, Private Labeled Credit Cards, Non-Amazon Branded Credit Cards, Shop with Points, and Foreign Exchange. These products provide innovative payment experiences on and off Amazon and support a financial services ad serving platform with over 100 billion impressions per year.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to build a strong patent portfolio and develop extensible, multi-faceted solutions supporting global and regional payment protocols and workflows. It is a high-visibility program within Consumer Payments, aiming to deliver significant business value.

We seek passionate, experienced system software developers capable of working with a team to deliver high-quality, scalable software solutions supporting diverse customer use cases.

Key responsibilities include troubleshooting, diagnosing, fixing production issues, developing tools, automations, monitoring solutions, and maintaining software written mainly in Java and Ruby with Rails.

Key job responsibilities

1. Support incoming tickets, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across multiple products and services.
2. Work on operations and maintenance coding projects using Ruby, Rails, Java, Python, shell scripts, AWS, and web technologies.
3. Support software deployment in staging and production environments.
4. Develop operational tools and report system and support status.
5. Own and maintain one or more digital payment products or components.
6. Coordinate customer notifications and workflows to meet SLAs.
7. Collaborate with support teams for issue hand-offs and knowledge base development.

A day in the life

Provide support for system tickets, troubleshoot issues, work on coding projects related to operations, maintain deployment processes, develop tools, report system statuses, and own payment products. Collaborate with support teams to ensure smooth operations and knowledge sharing.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of at least one modern programming language such as C, C++, Java, or Perl.
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby.
• Experience developing automation tools for building, testing, releasing, or monitoring.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Proficiency in Python scripting.
• Experience with highly concurrent, high throughput, and complex distributed systems.
