Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking software engineers to design, develop, and deliver high‑scale data center controls products. You will work across disciplines, influence teams, and own key initiatives while collaborating with global partners to drive standardization and modularization.

The role requires 2+ years of professional software development, design/architecture experience, and strong knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals, with proficiency in at least one modern programming

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
  • 1+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems).
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a cross-disciplinary setting with ability to influence and drive others.
  • Make technical trade-offs between short‑term project goals and long‑term business needs.
  • Develop common libraries and reusable modular components to accelerate build cycles.
  • Simplify, optimize, and accelerate the software development cycle for data center controls products.
  • Leverage economy of scale through standardization and modularization of data center controls products.
  • Provide technical subject matter expertise to peers, senior management, and partner teams.
  • Develop business justification and narratives to promote new concepts and ideas.
  • Lead key initiatives for the organization while demonstrating complete ownership.
  • Work with global partners to deliver electrical and mechanical controls products.
