Your problem-solving skills will have a direct impact on people and our customers. This role requires you to hit the ground running, learn quickly, and manage multiple overlapping tasks. High-impact production issues often require coordination with multiple Development, Operations, and IT Support groups, providing broad exposure and impact.
Primary responsibilities include troubleshooting, diagnosing, and fixing production software issues; developing monitoring solutions; performing software maintenance and configuration; implementing fixes for internally developed code (Perl, Ruby, C/C++, Java); executing SQL queries; and updating, tracking, and resolving technical challenges. You will also collaborate with development teams on Amazon Corporate and Divisional Software projects, enhance existing software, automate support processes, and document systems.
The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, have strong organizational abilities, multitask effectively, work independently, and maintain professionalism under pressure. You should have expert knowledge of large-scale distributed system design and engineering best practices, be proactive in identifying potential problems, and implement solutions to detect and prevent outages. Ability to prioritize projects, make sound judgments, improve customer experience, and focus on key objectives is essential.
