Job summary

Base is seeking a System Design & Architecture Engineer to own the system-level hardware architecture for multi-subsystem products. You will define how subsystems interact, set system boundaries, and establish data and control flows across the system.

This role writes and owns requirements during design and evolves into system integration as the program matures. You will bring 4+ years in complex electromechanical or power-electronics systems with strong EE and firmware fundamentals, plus

Qualifications

• 4+ years designing or integrating multi-subsystem electromechanical, embedded, or power-electronics systems with system-architecture ownership.
• Strong EE fundamentals and firmware skills—reason about embedded behavior, communications and timing.
• First-principles reasoning and root-cause analysis on complex multi-domain problems.
• Knowledge of dynamic controls (PID and feedback loops).
• Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink for modeling and analysis; able to write Python scripts.
• Able to articulate designs as state charts and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Define hardware architecture across subsystems and set system boundaries and data flows.
• Write and own system-level requirements and keep them coherent as design evolves.
• Transition to system integration, bring up multi-subsystem behavior and root-cause issues.
• Exercise cross-domain decision-making to drive closure without design-by-committee.
• Lead root-cause investigations at system level and inter-subsystem failures.
