SafePointe division of SoundThinking is hiring for System Alert Monitors. The company’s Alert Review Center (ARC) operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week and serves as the central hub for monitoring specialized weapon detection systems at client locations. Within the ARC, real-time system alerts are received, analyzed, and triaged by a team of System Alert Monitors (SAMs); providing clients with immediate actionable information focused on public safety. Daily, the alert determinations generated by Monitors are used to assist client staff, security, and law enforcement with the critical mission of stopping the ingress of unauthorized firearms at both public and private locations.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • As a System Alert Monitor, you will play a critical role in increasing public safety by vigilantly monitoring notifications from a specialized weapon detection system.
  • Apply critical thinking skills while reviewing and evaluating alert images/videos based on pre-defined risk indicators.
  • Make immediate threat-level determinations and assign appropriate threat alert levels.
  • Remain impartial and unbiased when evaluating alert information and maintain strict confidentiality regarding all observed actions and behaviors.
  • Note: Training will be provided as part of employment for this position and all new employees will be required to complete an introductory period.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher.
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
  • Background check will be conducted prior to hire.
  • Ability to follow oral and written procedures and instructions.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts and willingness to assist the team as needed .
  • Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form.
  • Perform b asic computer skills, including Microsoft Office products .
  • Must be able to see visual notifications with a high level of accuracy.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and support team goals, objectives, and performance metrics .
  • Previous experience in customer service, call centers, CCTV monitoring, security, loss prevention, law enforcement, or related fields is highly desired.
  • Must be able to work onsite in an office environment - This is not a remote position.

Working Conditions/Environment

The work requires prolonged periods of sitting/standing, talking, and listening under conditions that may be stressful.

Other Significant Facts : This is a full-time position, working 5 days per week onsite at our Fremont, CA Headquarters. You may be required to stay at work during a declared emergency or any other time as designated. This office operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You may be required to work a flexible and/or rotating 8-hour shift. Shifts could be altered and/or extended at any time with notice. Must be able to work all shifts, holidays, and weekends; mandatory overtime may be required .
