Job summary

Power3 Solutions seeks a System Administrator (SFMT) to support Fort Meade, MD with TS/SCI and polygraph clearance. The role covers system administration, patching, vulnerability scans, and server management for Windows and Linux, with travel as needed.

The successful candidate will work under ISSO guidance, maintain security configurations, and coordinate access for event locations. Strong scripting and PKI familiarity preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and 5 years SA experience or equivalent substitution.
• Experience with modern operating systems and network architectures.
• Certification and accreditation experience; IA metrics gathering.
• DoD 8570 IAM Level 1 requirements (Security+).
• Willingness to operate in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
• Travel 2–5 days trips and 2–5 weeks long trips yearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide tier 1 helpdesk support at an annual exercise event.
• Manage user accounts and patch Windows/Linux systems.
• Update Trellix ePO security files and run vulnerability scans.
• Coordinate IT asset configuration control and network access.
• Perform DNS, Nginx/Apache server management, and scripting tasks.

System Administrator (SFMT)

We are hiring a System Administrator (SFMT) to work in Fort Meade, MD. Position location is subject to change based on central MD client's needs.

Required: TS/SCI with a Polygraph

Description:

As an SFMT system administrator on our team you will provide support required to operate and maintain all hardware and software in compliance with established policies required by the customer. This position is technical in nature. The successful individual will perform systems administration in coordination with the ISSO. The Systems Administrator will:

• Provide tier 1 helpdesk support at an annual exercise event
• Collect and transfer files between networks
• Manage user accounts
• Apply and verify patches on Windows and Linux systems
• Update Trellix ePO (Formerly McAfee) security files
• Run and review vulnerability scans and compliance scans
• Manage configuration control of IT assets
• Coordinate with event locations to ensure access

Individual Capabilities/Experience Required:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university and five (5) years' experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required. Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
• Must have at least two (2) years of demonstrated experience in Modern operating systems and network architectures.
• Must have at least two (2) years of demonstrated experience in certification and accreditation. Architecture development and design. Risk Assessments. IA Metrics gathering.
• Must meet DoD Directive 8570 IAM Level 1 requirements (Security + at a minimum).
• Be willing to operate in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision, and possess strong interpersonal, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
• Be willing to travel; several smaller trips (2-5 days) per year and one longer trip (2 to 5 weeks) per year.
• Physical Demands & Equipment: Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Experience with Tenable Nessus/ACAS.
• Experience with Trellix (formerly McAfee).
• Understanding of DNS.
• Familiarity with Linux CLI; Windows Servers; Bash and Powershell Scripting.
• Experience with Nginx and Apache Web Server Management.
• Understanding of basic networking concepts.
• Position requires TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

Individual Capabilities/Experience Desired:

• Experience with PKI; Ansible or other operating tools; Linux KVM Hypervisor; Windows GPO; Elasticsearch/Kibana; GIT; Python; RSYSLOG; Nxlog; Cisco IOS CLI.
• Demonstrate experience with Operating Systems (Windows, Linux).
