Job summary

Amentum seeks a System Administrator for a prime contract based in Maryland. You will support IT systems, including UNIX and Windows, and manage day-to-day operations across client/server/storage devices.

The role requires a TS/SCI Poly clearance and IAM Level I per DoD 8570.01-M, with at least ten years of SA experience on similar programs. Bachelor's in a technical field or 14 years of equivalent work is accepted.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, IT Engineering or related field.
• In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, fourteen (14) years of total work-related experience may be substituted.
• Ten (10) years of System Administrator experience on programs of similar scope and complexity.
• Experience with Linux and Networking.
• DoD 8570.01-M compliance with IAM Level I minimum.
• TS/SCI Poly clearance is required.

Job description

Purpose and Impact:

Amentum is seeking a System Administrator for a new prime contract that is based out of our Maryland office.

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

• Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems. Manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.
• Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
• Provide Tier I (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems.
• Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
• Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remain involved in the resolution process.
• Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintain integrity and configure network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
• Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems
• Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems
• Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
• Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning
• Provide in-depth experience in trouble-shooting IT systems
• Provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets

Clearance Required:

• TS/SCI Poly

Minimum Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, IT Engineering or related field is required.
• In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, four (4) additional years of work-related experience may be substituted for a total of fourteen (14) years.

Minimum Years of Experience:

• Ten (10) years’ experience as a SA on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, four (4) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a total of fourteen (14) years of experience.
• Experience with Linux and Networking.

Required Certifications:

• Compliance with DoD 8570.01-M with a minimum certification of IAM Level I is required.

Compensation Details:

$160K - $180K
