System Administrator - Red Hat Enterprise Linux (SAL) Level 4

Position Summary

DarkStar Intelligence seeks a highly skilled System Administrator - Red Hat Enterprise Linux (SAL) Level 4 to support mission-critical IT infrastructure. The selected candidate will be responsible for administering, maintaining, and optimizing Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)-based systems in a secure, high-performance computing environment. This role involves installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and ensuring the stability and security of Linux-based IT systems.

Location: Annapolis Junction, MD

Schedule (FT/PT): Full-Time

Security Clearance: Current TS/SCI

Polygraph: Required

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Configure Linux-based operating systems and their services in order to maximize system performance and reliability.
  2. Provide support for the implementation and operation of Red Hat Enterprise Linux based Information Technology (IT) systems or Red Hat Derivative systems.
  3. Install and configure Linux-based operating systems and their services according to system requirements.
  4. Conduct day-to-day operations, such as account management, system health and status checks, and internal technical and security log review.
  5. Identify capacity, performance, and reliability issues and escalate them for resolution.
  6. Identify patches and configuration changes according to provided direction.
  7. Support the dispatching of hardware technicians and performing hardware maintenance.
  8. Manage the system as part of an integrated solution, assisting related administrators in troubleshooting and correcting network and storage subsystem issues.
  9. Communicate status to agency management and internal customers.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Current Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph
  2. US Citizen
  3. A high school diploma (or GED) is required.
  4. Nine (9) years of demonstrated IT experience in any related field.
  5. Five (5) years demonstrated Red Hat Enterprise Linux system administration experience within the last eight (8) years.
  6. An active Tier II certification related to Red Hat Enterprise Linux system administration, such as the Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).

Salary Range

$130,000 - $150,000

This pay range is a general guideline and not a guarantee of specific compensation or salary. When extending an offer, DarkStar Intelligence considers various factors, including (but not limited to) the job's responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, market data alignment, applicable bargaining agreements (if any), and other relevant laws.
