Job summary

A service-disabled veteran-owned small business is seeking a Senior System Administrator/Network Engineer for a full-time position at APG, MD. The role includes providing software system analysis, managing servers, and ensuring security and efficiency in network operations. Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and have at least five years of experience. A Secret Clearance is also required.

Job Description:
Responsibilities

The SA will provide functional and empirical analysis of all software systems. The SA's full time duty location will be onsite at APG.

Must have experience in the following:

  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, information security/authorization profiles, or system administration of Unix or Windows networks/systems.
  • Managing servers, which typically involves installing and upgrading the servers, as well as solving any kind of problems with the systems.
  • Providing the essential software support for the laptops, desktop personal computers, and printers, including the configuration of the hardware devices, testing new software and designing the structure of the network.
  • Monitoring the system configuration, including the server event log.
  • Testing the operating system software, the networking software and also the computer hardware.
  • Monitoring and developing the procedures for backups of the servers.
  • CCNA/CCNP
  • Architecting entire network - initial planning
  • Physical Cabling
  • Physical Cisco switching and routing
  • APIC/ACCI configuration and management
  • Network documentation - Diagrams
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree, Computer Science, Mathematics, or other Engineering or Technical discipline.
  • Five (5) years of experience within the last 8 years.
