Job summary

Themis Insight, LLC. is seeking a System Administrator (Linux) to support IT systems at the Ft. Meade, MD vicinity. The role requires TS/SCI with a polygraph and involves Linux system administration, security patching, and ITSM-related tasks.

The position focuses on implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining IT infrastructure across UNIX/Linux/Windows environments, with duties spanning help desk to escalation support and ongoing security/compliance activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline is required; four additional SA years may substitute for a degree.
• Five years experience as a SA in programs/contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• Two years of experience with ITSM is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems.
• Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems.
• Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems.
• Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems.
• Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems.
• Perform account management (establishing, activating, modifying, disabling, and removing accounts).
• Provide configuration management, implementation, and sustainment of compliance with applicable system security controls.
• Perform periodic vulnerability scans of systems.
• Implement IAVA security patches and record patch status in appropriate systems of record.
• Provide support for escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
• Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning.

We are hiring a System Administrator (Linux) to work in the Ft. Meade, MD vicinity. Position location is subject to change based on central MD client's needs.

Description:

Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of information Technology (IT) systems. Manages IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems. Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc. Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems. Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers. Provides support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process. Configures and manages UNIX, Linux and Windows operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

The Level 1 System Administrator shall possess the following capabilities:

• Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems
• Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems

• Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems

Individual Capabilities/Experience Required:

• Five (5) years experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• Two (2) years of experience with Service Management (ITSM) is required.
