Description

The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos currently has an immediate need for an experienced System Administrator IV – Storage for a new customer on a strategic High-Performance Computing (HPC) program. The Senior System Administrator will need to be a self-starter with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, flexibility, good judgment, and the ability to work within a team to mature the HPC capabilities of our customer.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Provide Tier 0-4 storage support to three geographically dispersed locations. Responsible for overseeing the most critical aspects of the HPC and Datacenter Infrastructure.
  2. Lead strategic planning, architecture design, and the deployment of enterprise-scale projects.
  3. Solve the organization’s most complex technical issues, contribute to IT strategy, and drive innovations to ensure the robustness, security, and efficiency of the infrastructure.
  4. Lead medium-to-large scale projects, design and implement system policies, conduct advance troubleshooting, and direct recovery efforts during critical system failures.
  5. Mentor junior staff members and have the ability to work alone and as part of a larger team to complete projects on time.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must possess a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
  • Candidates shall have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and twelve (12) years of experience in system administration and support of a large client-server-based IT enterprise, or a master’s degree with ten (10) years of experience. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, the individual shall have six (6) years of full-time computer science experience and at least ten (10) years of demonstrable experience in system administration and support of a large client-server-based IT enterprise.
  • Experience with installation, configuration, and networking of UNIX and/or NT based platforms. This experience shall include creating, modifying and deleting user accounts, performing system back-ups, and maintaining system configuration files.
  • Have a fundamental understanding of operating systems and be familiar with either UNIX or NT commands or utilities at the user level. Experience includes the installation and configuration of hardware, operating systems, and commercial software packages.
  • Develop and implement enterprise backup/recovery strategies, server configuration and consolidation, and verification of the health and status of the entire IT infrastructure with the following skills:
    • SGI IRIX based Operating System
    • SGI systems with direct attached and FC SAN attached storage
    • Network Appliance clustered servers with direct attached and FC SAN storage
    • Network Appliance and SGI IRIX supported applications
    • Multivendor clustered filesystems such as GPFS, Lustre
    • Brocade FC switch network
    • Enterprise class arrays
    • Solid State Disk (SSD)
    • NFS/CIFS based server/storage appliance
    • HPSE
    • Data Domain and similar deduplication products
    • Cloud based storage solutions such as HADOOP, and IBM BigInsights
    • Trouble ticket management utilizing Remedy

Pay Range:

Pay Range $112,450.00 - $203,275.00
