Job summary

Davis Unlimited Information Technologies (DUIT) in Maryland seeks highly experienced System Administrators to join a certified IT team supporting DoD and federal civilian agencies. The role covers Tier 1/2 support, system deployment, troubleshooting, and daily operations across UNIX and Windows environments.

Ideal candidates have 15 years of SA experience, a technical degree, and familiarity with ELK, Tripwire, VMware, and RedHat SELinux. Active TS/SCI is preferred.

Qualifications

  • 15 years of System Administrator experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or 5 additional SA years in lieu.
  • 5 years of infrastructure experience related to installing, configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and using system security tools.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems.
  • Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution.
  • Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems.
  • Assist users in accessing and using IT systems.
  • Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification and resolution.
  • Support day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices and mobile devices.
  • Support escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
  • Optimize system operations and resource utilization; perform capacity analysis and planning.
  • Provide in-depth troubleshooting experience for IT systems.
  • Provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets.
  • Support the dispatch system and hardware problems and remain involved in the resolution process.
  • Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems; install/loads OS software; troubleshoot and maintain network component integrity; implement OS enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Support system design of missions, architecture and associated hardware.
  • Understand system administration interdependencies as part of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
  • Analyze and resolve complex problems related to server hardware, applications and software integration.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Required Education & Years of Experience: Fifteen (15) years of experience as a System Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. A Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • 5 years of experience in Infrastructure (U) related to installing, configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and using system security (container security, virtual machine security, security boundary enforcement), configuration, and reporting tools.
  • Preferred infrastructure experience with ELK, Tripwire, VMware, and RedHat SELinux security tool suite.
