Focused on security, patching, and proactive optimization, you will support mission-critical infrastructure and collaborate with SMEs on projects.

Qualifications

• 2 years' experience supporting and maintaining a virtualized compute environment.
• Experience managing enterprise Windows infrastructure via AD, GPO, and PowerShell.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and support enterprise servers, OS, virtualization, storage, and end-user computing.

Job description

Title: System Administrator 3(With Windows and Powershell)

Location: Vancouver, WA (Onsite)

Duration: 12-month Contract (with possible extensions up to 5 years)

Pay Range: $60.54 - $64.51 per hour

Operational Infrastructure provides 24 X 7 hardware maintenance and lifecycle support for the company Control Center systems. Functions performed include providing General Support System (GSS) infrastructure maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, emergency response, client support, system energization/acceptance testing, and performance analysis and trending. Responsibilities include supporting clients that use Control Center systems for both mission critical and business critical services. Operational Infrastructure provides expert level support for the GSS infrastructure in the control centers. Services in these support systems include authentication and access, storage and virtualization, malicious code protection, dispatch and scheduling display infrastructure, operating system platforms, vulnerability detection, patch management, network security and configuration management, cabling infrastructure, facilities management systems, and critical area security. Included in these responsibilities are the documentation and compliance activities required to perform these functions.

Position Responsibilities:

• Administer, maintain, and support enterprise servers, operating systems, virtualization platforms, storage systems, and end-user computing environments.
• Configure, deploy, troubleshoot, and optimize hardware, software, and infrastructure systems to ensure reliable operations.
• Manage system security through patch management, vulnerability assessments, malware protection, and access control administration.
• Design and maintain role-based access and least-privilege security models to safeguard systems and data.
• Provide advanced technical support, resolve complex system issues, and assist users with infrastructure-related incidents and service requests.
• Develop, maintain, and improve technical documentation, deployment procedures, operational standards, and system records.
• Monitor system performance, identify risks and improvement opportunities, and recommend solutions that enhance stability, security, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with technical teams, stakeholders, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to support infrastructure projects, upgrades, and modernization initiatives.
• Support compliance, governance, and audit requirements by maintaining accurate records and implementing approved controls and processes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by recommending and implementing operational, procedural, and technology enhancements.

Position Requirements:

Education & Corresponding Experience

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a directly-related technical discipline is preferred.
  • With an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in applicable fields, 8 years of experience is required.
  • Without an applicable degree, 10 years of experience is required.
• Experience must include direct work experience in Information Technology performing System Administration.
• Experience includes a minimum combination of work-related experience, on-the-job training, and/or vocational training.

Required Technical Skills & Experience

• 2 years' experience with the following:
  • Working knowledge and experience are sufficient to successfully support and maintain a virtualized and converged compute environment.
  • Working knowledge and experience is sufficient to successfully support, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise Windows infrastructure using active directory, group policy, PowerShell, and other Windows utilities.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Experience administering computer systems in a 24/7 high availability operational environment.
• Administration and maintenance of network systems infrastructure management tools or systems including anti-virus, patch deployment, log management, software deployment and backup and recovery functions.
• Experience administrating and performing and analyzing scans using Nessus.
• Experience in researching vulnerabilities and deploying security patches in a large IT infrastructure environment.
• Windows operating systems packaging, installation, and troubleshooting.
• Administration of virtualization technologies including VMWare.
• Experience with administering both network and host-based firewalls.
• Experience troubleshooting LAN connectivity problems.
• Experience using specific technologies such as Splunk, Remote Desktop Services, Tripwire, Trend Micro, LANDesk, Puppet Enterprises, Checkpoint Firewall, Veeam backup, HP and Cisco server hardware, PowerShell
